Portugal's CGD Raises Stake In EDP To 5.24% Vs 4.9%
Portuguese state-controlled bank Caixa Geral de Depositos SA raised on Dec. 19 its total stake in the country's energy firm Energias de Portugal SA (EDP.LB) to 5.24%, or nearly 191.6 million shares, EDP said in a regulatory filing Thursday.
CGD held a 4.9% stake in EDP, according to information posted on EDP's Web site.
In its statement, EDP also said that CGD's direct stake in the company amounts to 5.104%, or nearly 186.64 million EDP shares.
Meanwhile, in a separate regulatory filing, CGD said its chairman, Carlos Santos Ferreira, resigned from his post, which he held since August 2005. No reasons were given for his departure.
