Russia's state-controlled gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) has raised its initial EUR400 million ($592 million) bid for 51% in Serbia's national oil and gas company Naftne Industrije Srbije, The Financial Times reports Monday.

The paper doesn't say what the bid has been increased to.
Gazprom's proposal also includes a EUR500 million investment in Serbia's oil and gas industry and a construction of a gas pipeline through Serbia.
The two sides are expected to sign a deal Friday, during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Bulgaria.
Several other European energy companies, including Austria's OMV AG (OMV.VI) and Hungary's MOL nyrt. (MOL.BU), have all shown an interest in NIS, the papers says.
