Germany's network regulator, the Bundesnetzagentur, Wednesday said that in 2007 the number of retail customers that have changed their energy suppliers is expected to be twice as high as in the previous year.
The regulator expects that around 1.3 million households changed their energy suppliers last year, said Matthias Kurth, the watchdog's president, at the presentation of the Bundesnetzagentur's annual report 2007.
Kurth didn't break down the number by customers that changed their power and gas suppliers.
In 2006, around 600,000 customers changed their energy supplier, he added.
