Austrian utility company Verbund AG (VER.VI) Thursday said Turkish Enerjisa, a joint venture between Verbund and Turkey's Sabanci Holding (SAHOL.IS), has initiated the plan to construct a 920 megawatt power plant in Bandirma on the southern coast of Turkey.
Austrian utility company Verbund AG (VER.VI) Thursday said Turkish Enerjisa, a joint venture between Verbund and Turkey's Sabanci Holding (SAHOL.IS), has initiated the plan to construct a 920 megawatt power plant in Bandirma on the southern coast of Turkey.

The power plant construction entails an investment of EUR500 million. It will be carried out by a consortium consisting of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (7011.TO) and Austrian A-Tec Power Plant Systems AG, a subsidiary of industrial group A-Tec Industries AG (ATEC.VI).

The power plant will be production ready in the spring of 2010, Verbund said in a statement.
