Global oil demand is weakening and OPEC's customers aren't asking for more crude, the group's head of research, Hassan Qabazard, said Thursday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Petrostrategies oil summit here, Qabazard said the data was contained in the 13-member producer group's next monthly oil market report due Tuesday.
"We sell oil to cutomers who ask for it and there are no cusomers asking for it ... why should we increase production? There has not been any increase in demand and in fact it's falling."
He said inventories cover is adequate and remained above the five-year average.
