German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (EBK.XE) Monday said its 926-megawatt nuclear reactor Philippsburg 1 was shut down over the weekend for planned annual maintenance works.
The power plant operator said that the maintenance work will include changing of 76 of the reactor's 592 fuel rods.
The company didn't say how long the maintenance outage would last, but according to information obtained by Dow Jones Newswires previously the plant is due to resume power generation May 24.
