RosUkrEnergo, an intermediary half-owned by Russia's gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS), will continue to supply Ukraine with gas in 2008, the newspaper Vedomosti reported Monday citing Ukrainian's official.
The Swiss-based trader, which has been supplying Ukraine and other East European countries with natural gas from Central Asia, has signed a contract to deliver about 50 billion cubic meters of gas this year. The news comes over the objections of Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
Tymoshenko said Friday that she would continue to push for elimination of all intermediaries, accusing them of diverting money into private pockets.
