Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt.'s (MOL.BU) natural gas transport arm Fgsz Foldgazszallito Zrt. has invited tenders for the construction of a gas pipeline to connect the Hungarian and Romanian gas networks, national daily Nepszabadsag said Wednesday.

Fgsz Foldgazszallito Spokeswoman Edina Lakatos told the daily that the construction cost is estimated at 9 billion forints ($56.5 million). The high pressure pipeline stretch is planned to connect the two countries by the end of 2009.

Similar network connections are planned with Croatia by 2011 and with Slovenia by an unspecified date.
