FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--Gazprom OAO's (GAZP.RS) Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Medvedev has criticized European Union energy policies in an article he submitted to German daily Handelsbatt for publication Tuesday.
Medvedev writes that he isn't certain that proposed E.U. measures to liberalize the energy markets will fullfil the block's desire to ensure security of supply.
He asks whether there is evidence that the E.U. proposals, such as a forced sale of energy companies' gas grids, will secure "urgently needed" investment and if the European Commission's drive for so-called ownership unbundling is compatible with the principles of the free market and property laws
