French renewable power company EdF Energies Nouvelles (EEN.FR) announced Thursday the signing of a new agreement for the development and construction of the Crane Creek project in Iowa on behalf of a third party.
The 99 MW wind farm will be delivered in 2009. The agreement between enXco, the US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, or WPSC, a regional public utility supplying electricity and gas, covers the development and construction of a wind farm of 66 GE turbines, each with 1.5 MW in unit capacity.
The Crane Creek project is due to be finalized during 2008, with the award of all the requisite permits from the Iowa State authorities. Construction of the facility is scheduled for 2009.
