A2A SpA (A2A.MI) expects to take possession Oct. 1 of assets from the slit of generation company Endesa Italia SpA, said Giuliano Zuccoli, chairman of the management board of Italy's biggest municipal utility by market value, Thursday.
"We hope to have possession (of the assets following the break up of Endesa Italia) from Oct. 1," or not later than December, Zuccoli said on a conference call held to comment first-quarter results.
A2A owns a 20% stake in Endesa Italia, one of Italy's biggest power generators. The remaining 80% is owned by Spain's Endesa SA (ELE.MC), which is controlled by Enel SpA (ENEL.MI) and Acciona SA (ANA.MC). However, German utility E.ON AG (EOA.XE) agreed in April to purchase some Endesa assets, including Endesa Italia.
