Former monopoly RAO Unified Energy System of Russia (EESR.RS), or UES, Friday said it has sold its 21.3% stake in Tatarstan-based utility OAO Bashkirenergo (BEGY.RS) for 11 billion rubles ($446.1 million).
The figure equals the starting price for the sale set by UES in April.
UES said the buyer was unknown firm OOO Unitrade, without disclosing whose interests it represents.
Earlier this month, Bashkirenergo's chief engineer, Rishat Amirkhanov, said potential bidders included gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS), conglomerate AFK Sistema (AFKS.RS) and IES-Holding, or KES, controlled by tycoon Viktor Vekselberg's Renova Group.
None of the companies said to be interested in the stake was immediately available to comment.
