Russia's largest electrical engineering company OAO Power Machines, or Silovye Mashiny (SILM.RS), said Wednesday it will deliver and install machinery for two nuclear power units to the state-owned nuclear energy corporation Atomenergoprom worth a total of 40 billion rubles ($1.7 billion).

The deal includes upgrading the Novovoronezhskoe and Leningradskoe nuclear power stations with an additional 2,400 megawatts each. The power units will be the first to be built from scratch in Russia in the last 15 years, the company said.

State-owned Atomenergoprom was created in 2007 to group together different Russian nuclear energy assets.
