Officials said Tuesday Slovenia's nuclear power plant is back online again after a faulty valve blamed for a water leak was replaced.
The Krsko plant was shut down June 4 following a leak that initially sent alarm throughout Europe. It turned out to be contained within the plant's building.
The plant operators said the reactor was restarted late Monday after the country's nuclear watchdog checked the repairs.
Krsko is Slovenia's only nuclear plant. It began operating in 1983 and is scheduled to close in 2023. Despite protests from environmentalists, Slovenia plans to build another reactor there by 2013.
