An explosion in southeastern Turkey late Wednesday destroyed parts of a pipeline carrying oil from Kirkuk, Iraq, to the Turkish port of Ceyhun, Saudi Press Agency, or SPA, reports citing Turkish official news agency, Anadolu.

The explosion that took place in the province of Sanliurfa led to a quick change of the pressure inside the pipeline, SPA reports.

The Turkish authorities shut down the pipeline after oil leaked two kilometers away from the explosion, according to SPA.

SPA didn't say if the pipeline has since been repaired.
