Russian oil pipeline operator OAO Transneft (TRNFP.RS) has offered to build oil transportation facilities in Venezuela for projects of a Russian-Venezuelan consortium, Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev said Thursday, the Prime-Tass news agency reported.
"We are currently studying the prospects (of the deal) and are trying to see if our offers would be wanted (by the Venezuelan side)," Tokarev said.
In late September, Russia and Venezuela agreed to create an oil consortium to develop projects in Venezuela and other countries. The consortium is expected to include Venezuela's state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA, or PDVSA, and Russian companies OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS), Rosneft (ROSN.RS), TNK-BP Holdings (TNBP.RS), Surgutneftegas, and Lukoil Holdings (LKOH.RS).
