Iran will likely finalize a contract next year to export 1 billion cubic feet a day of natural gas from its Kish natural gas field to Oman, the managing director of National Iranian Oil Co.'s offshore unit said Friday.
Execution work would begin soon after the contract is signed and Oman would likely receive its first gas four years later, said M. Ziracchian Zadeh, managing director of NIOC unit Iranian Offshore Oil Co.
Oman will finance the development of the Kish gas field, currently estimated at US$10 billion, Ziracchian Zadeh said.
