Russia's natural gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) plans to increase its natural gas reserves in Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East by up to 7 trillion cubic meters before 2030, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
Gazprom said its priority task in the Far East was to prepare deposits for commercial hydrocarbon extraction.
As of Oct. 1, Gazprom and its subsidiaries held 45 licenses for development of fields in Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East.
As of the end of 2007, Gazprom's total proved and probable natural gas reserves were at 20.82 trillion cubic meters.
