Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler signaled his government may make a gas price cut in January, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.
"Of course the decreases in oil prices will be reflected in prices," Guler told reporters in the central city of Konya, replying to a question on whether the government will make a cut in gas prices in January.
Earlier in November, Turkey raised household gas prices by 22.5% and increased industry gas prices by 22%, effective Nov. 1.
The chairman of state-owned pipeline and gas company BOTAS said Nov. 3 that the price of natural gas may fall at the start of 2009, if oil prices maintain their current levels and if the exchange rate remains stable.
