Czech power company CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR) should post even higher profits in 2009 than the record-high net profit the company expects from 2008, the company's head of sales said in an interview in newspaper Hospodarske Noviny.
"Most of our sales (of electricity) for 2009 took place right at the time last year when forward prices were higher" than current prices were at that time, Alan Svoboda said.
He reiterated the company's guidance that net profit for 2008 should reach 48.6 billion Czech koruna (US$2.48 billion), which would surpass the company's best-ever profit of CZK41.56 billion from 2007 by 17%.
