German utility RWE AG (RWE.XE) Monday said it has received 5% less gas than usual from Russia since late Sunday.
German utility RWE AG (RWE.XE) Monday said it has received 5% less gas than usual from Russia since late Sunday.

However, the company said it can compensate for the decline in gas through acquisitions - for instance in Norway.

Russia's OAO Gazprom Thursday halted deliveries to Ukraine - a key transit country for Russia's lucrative gas trade with the European Union - after talks to negotiate a new supply contract for 2009 broke down due to a dispute about price.

Since then, five E.U. countries and Turkey have started recording slight supply disruptions.

The E.U. gets 80% of its Russian gas imports via Ukraine.
