The Caspian Pipeline Consortium said in a statement Friday that exports through the pipeline remained unaffected despite a leak on the pipeline, which carries Kazakh crude oil to the Black Sea.

Oil shipments were stopped between the Chevron Corp.-led (CVX) Tengiz field and Atyrau, as an oil leak was discovered Thursday.

"Exports weren't affected due to storage capacity of the system," the consortium said.

CPC said it was working to "resume the pipeline's full shipping capacity."
