Iran Protests At Italian Statement of G8 Summit

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Iran has summoned the Italian ambassador to Tehran to protest against what it called the "violent suppression" of protests at the Group of Eight leading nations meeting in L'Aquila, Italy, Iranian state-funded PressTV reports on its Web site Friday.

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Iran has summoned the Italian ambassador to Tehran to protest against what it called the "violent suppression" of protests at the Group of Eight leading nations meeting in L'Aquila, Italy, Iranian state-funded PressTV reports on its Web site Friday.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry statement included Iran's "strong condemnation" of the "suppressive actions, which are clear breaches of civil freedoms and fundamentals of democracy," the report said.
