Bulgaria's premier has said the country doesn't have money to pay for the proposed Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline, the Sofia News Agency reports on its website Tuesday.

Boyko Borisov's comments come a week after he announced, then quickly retracted,
Bulgaria 's complete withdrawal from the project, which is to be jointly funded by Russia .

The people of the
port of Burgas "don't want this project... the international environment assessment won't be favorable, it isn't profitable and we don't have money for it," Borisov said Tuesday.

Borisov also said
Bulgaria and Russia have "good, pragmatic ties," and that Bulgaria is "heading in the right direction."
