German Economics Minister Rainer Bruederle Tuesday again spoke out in
favor of significantly prolonging the lifespans of German nuclear power plants.
An extension of 15 to 20 years is a period worth discussing, Bruederle said in
Berlin
at
the sidelines of a conference of the German industry lobby Bundesverband der
Deutschen Industrie.
In
Germany
's
ruling coalition, there is agreement that nuclear energy is needed as a bridge
technology. But the
bridge must be long enough, Bruederle added.
