The price of electricity in Bulgaria will be rising by 3-4 per cent annually until 2013 if all projects for wind parks and photovoltaic power plants are implemented as applied for, State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (SEWRC) member Plamen Denchev warned, quoted by the"Sega" daily.

"The green surcharge, which is part of the electricity price for end users, now stands at 3.03 leva/MWh, but with the avalanche of applications the production of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES) will reach 4,000 MW in 2013, bringing the green surcharge to 13-14 leva/MWh. Therefore, the expensive RES electricity alone will be pushing the price up by 3-4 per cent annually.
