Most of the energy infrastructure needed to meet demand in 2030 has not yet been built, says Dan Yergin, chairman of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates. Speaking at the World Energy Congress in Montreal , Yergin says that energy demand will continue to grow, mainly driven by electricity - signaling that a "very big job is ahead" for the industry. The long lead times and massive investments required make it necessary for companies and governments to create an "energy compact."
