Bulgaria, Greece Move
Ahead with 130 Mln Euro Gas Link Project Bulgaria and Greece reached an
agreement on all unresolved issues regarding the construction of a 130 million
euro ($174 million) gas link between the two countries, the Bulgarian energy
ministry said.
The Bulgarian Energy
Holding (BEH) group and Greece's DEPA are mandated to continue talks on the
implementation of the project, in line with the European Commission's terms and
timeframe for the absorption of the co-funding for the project, the Bulgarian
ministry said in a statement released after a meeting between Bulgarian Energy
Minister Traycho Traykov and his Greek counterpart Tina Birbili in Thessaloniki
on Wednesday. It did not elaborate further.
State-owned BEH and
IGI Poseidon, a 50/50 partnership between Greece's DEPA and Italy's Edison, hold
equal stakes in the project company, set up in March to build, own and operate
the gas intreconnection
