The Iraqiya, an Iraqi political bloc headed by former prime minister Ayad Allawi which won most parliamentary seats in March elections, said Monday it rejected the recently-held government licensing auction of gas fields.

"We strongly condemn the outgoing government's actions to offer license rounds with long-term contracts and overstepping its constitutional mandates," the bloc said in a statement.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry on Oct. 20 awarded Akkas field in western
Iraq to Korea Gas Corp. (036460.SE) and Kazakhstan 's KazMunaiGas EP JSC (RDGZ.KZ), Mansouriya in eastern Iraq to a consortium led by Turkish Petroleum International Co., or TPAO, and Siba in the south to Kuwait Energy and TPAO.
