Statoil said Friday it is amending its routines for
oil drilling operations on the Gullfaks C platform in the
North Sea
following an incident
in May.
-The
incident, which did not result in any injuries or environmental damage, was
caused by leakage in a well casing.
-An investigation points to deficiencies in connection with risk management and
compliance with internal requirements for drill operation planning and
execution.
-The most important measures following the incident are linked to risk analyses
and acceptance criteria when complexity increases, supporting documentation,
quality assurance and formalism in planning and decision-making, and involving
technical expertise.
-Statoil has handed over its investigation report to the Petroleum Safety
Authority
Norway
