Gazprom will continue in November the talks on gas deliveries to China, Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom Board Deputy Chairman, said at a conference, entitled “Gas of Russia.” According to Medvedev, the talks will be held during a visit of the Chinese prime minister to Russia, PRIME-TASS reports.

Medvedev believes that China’s gas market is big enough to consume gas delivered both by Gazprom and other Russian companies. There will be enough room on the Chinese market for gas deliveries of the gas monopoly and “for gas delivered by some Russian companies, which would like to deliver to China the gas they buy from other countries,” Medvedev said.

As was reported before, LUKOIL and Chinese CNPC signed an agreement, which includes gas deliveries to China. Gas will be delivered to China from Uzbekistan, where LUKOIL develops a gas field. Gas deliveries may amount to 10 billion cubic metres, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov told journalists.

Previously LUKOIL Vice President Leonid Fedun said that within the coming three years gas production in Uzbekistan could reach 16-18 billion cubic metres. According to the information of PRIME-TASS, part of the total amount will be delivered according to a long-term contract signed by Uzbekistan and Gazprom.
