Maersk Oil, a fully owned subsidiary of A.P. Moller-Maersk, (MAERSK-B.KO) has found early signs of oil in the Brazilian Campos Basin, the company's head of exploration, Lars Nydahl Jorgensen, said Wednesday.

company's head of exploration, Lars Nydahl Jorgensen, said Wednesday.
"We are still early in the process, so we can't yet say if a development
is commercially feasible, but the results are encouraging," Nydahl
Jorgensen told the Direkt news agency, commenting on the first results from
exploration in the BM-C-37 block. The exploration is carried out in partnership
with
Brazil
's OGX
(OGXP3.BR), which owns half of the BM-C-37 license.
Nydahl Jorgensen said another well will be drilled within a couple of months,
to establish the quality of the find.
