China National Petroleum
Corp.'s oil and gas production in Kazakhstan reached a record 30
million metric tons of oil equivalent last year, the company said Thursday.
Kazakhstan is CNPC's main
crude production base in Central Asia, which
also feeds a crude oil pipeline linking the two countries, CNPC said on its
website.
CNPC, parent of PetroChina Co. (PTR), said previously that it plans to double
the transmission capacity of the crude oil pipeline by 2013 to 20 million
metric tons a year or 401,600 barrels a day.
