Edison SpA (EDN.MI), Italy's No. 2 natural gas company by volumes, said Wednesday it won three new hydrocarbon exploration licenses in Norway, as it strengthens its presence in the country.

In a statement,
Edison
said the licenses awarded
were for the 7124/1,2 block, as well as the 6407/8, 16/10 and 7/1,2 ones.
The Milan-based company already held five exploration licenses in
Norway
.
