Russian shareholders in TNK-BP, BP's (BP.LN) Russian joint venture, have
asked a court in
London
to
halt the landmark share swap and exploration deal between BP and Rosneft
(ROSN.RS), according to a representative of the Russian partners.
Atif Latif,
director of trading at Guardian Stockbrokers says BP has a history of being on
the wrong side of Russian joint ventures, and will have to show that this deal
is a positive one for both parties. Notes the market still needs convincing of
this deal in terms of taxation and costs. BP shares down 0.8% at 488p.
