Cyprus and Egypt To Discuss Hydrocarbons

Plans by Cyprus and Egypt to explore hydrocarbons deposits in their respective Exclusive Economic Zones and the exploitation of Cyprus' natural gas reserves will be put before a Joint Technical Committee of the two countries, to meet under the Energy Ministers, Cypriot Yiorgos Lakkotrypis and Egyptian Sherif Ismail, an official press release said on Monday.
Plans by Cyprus and Egypt to explore hydrocarbons deposits in their respective Exclusive Economic Zones and the exploitation of Cyprus' natural gas reserves will be put before a Joint Technical Committee of the two countries, to meet under the Energy Ministers, Cypriot Yiorgos Lakkotrypis and Egyptian Sherif Ismail, an official press release said on Monday.
The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday in Cairo, will seek to identify ways to further deepen the existing strategic cooperation between the two countries on energy issues, the press release added.
Lakkotrypis` visit to Cairo is part of preparations made ahead of a meeting the heads of state will have in New York, in September, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly reports Cyprus News Agency.
