Serbia's energy regulator, AERS, said on Thursday
it has approved a hike in public supplygas
tariffs of 3.6% on average as of October 1.
AERS also approved a hike in household gas tariffs
of 4.8%, it said in a statement.
The new average gas price for public supply will
be set at 43.4 dinars ($0.4714/0.3646 euro) per
cubic metre and that for households at 47.4
dinars.
The tariff hike was prompted mostly by the
strengthening of the U.S. dollar against the
Serbian dinar. The dollar/dinar exchange ratein
the last 15 days of August totaled 88.7 dinars,
which is 4.6% higher than the exchange rate that
is implemented for the calculation of the current
gas price.
This is the third gas price adjustment since
September 1, 2013. Cumulatively, over the past
year, the average gas price has risen by 1.2%,
AERS said.
