Croatian state-owned oil pipeline operator Jadranski Naftovod said on Wednesday it is planning to build an undersea oil pipeline from the island of Krk to the mainland.

In addition, the company plans to expand its Omisalj terminal on Krk to increase its oil and derivatives storage capacity, the company's board chairman Dragan Kovacevic said in a statement issued to mark Janaf's 40th anniversary.

The company has terminals on Krk as well as in Sisak, Virje, Slavonski Brod and Zitnjak and operates 622 kilometres of pipelines. It has a total of 1.54 million cubic metres (cu m) of storage capacity for oil and 202,000 cu m of capacity for the storage of petroleum products.
