The Slovenian unit of Germany's EES
Group has invited bids for the design and the preparation of the relevant
paperwork for the construction of six small hydro power plants (SHPPs) in
Serbia, a public notice indicated.
The winning bidder will be responsible
for the drafting of the general design for three SHPPs in the area of the town
of Vrnjacka Banja and as many in the Cicevac area, both in central Serbia, the
text of the public notice made available to SeeNews on Tuesday
showed.
The bidding deadline is March 23.
In December, the
municipality of Vrnjacka Banja signed with the Ljubljana-based unit of EES Group
an agreement for cooperation in the use of renewable energy sources, which paves
the way for EES Group to carry out plans to build three SHPPs in the vicinity of
the town.
The municipality said at the time that by the end of 2017, EES
Group plans to build a total of 18 SHPPs in Serbia, with the total investments
seen exceeding 60 million euro ($67.9 million).
