Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Krsko
has awarded a 22.9 million euro ($25.5 million) contract for nuclear safety
services to Spanish engineering company Tecnatom, a notice in the European
Union’s procurement journal showed on Thursday.
The contract covers the
design and engineering for the auxiliary control room in the plant, as well as
the supply of the equipment, the notice in Tenders Electronic Daily (TED)
showed.
The given value of the deal excludes value added
tax.
Krsko was built in Slovenia near the border with Croatia in the
1970s when the two countries were still part of former Yugoslavia. The two
neighbours share the power plant's output.
