Serbian energy minster Aleksandar Antic said on Thursday state-owned
power utility EPS will become by July 2016 a joint stock company as a result of
its ongoing restructuring.
As part of the restructuring measures, EPS
should end up split into power production, distribution and supply units, Antic
said in a statement, adding the break-up should be completed by July 1 this
year.
Earlier this month, Serbian economy minister Zeljko Sertic said
taking steps to restructure EPS alongside road company Putevi Srbije, railway
operator Zeleznice Srbije and gas monopoly Srbijagas would be critical as they
pose great risks for the country's macro-economic stability.
