Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, the press service of the Kremlin said on Friday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, the press service of the Kremlin said on Friday.

"Practical steps were discussed to implement agreements reached during the recent working visit of Alexis Tsipras to Russia, particularly the planned construction of the gas transport infrastructure across the territory of Turkey and Greece," the press service said.

Leaders of two nations "agreed to meet at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 18-20," the press service reported.

Contacts between leaders of Russia and Greece have recently become more active and the Turkish Stream pipeline projec t to deliver Russian gas to the border of Greece is discussed frequently. This topic was also raised on May 7 during the telephone conversation of Prime Minister Tsipras with President Putin.
