Gazprom initiated construction of new gas transportation facilities and
Ukhta-Torzhok-2 gas pipeline in Russia’s Komi Republic, Chief Executive
Officer of the gas holding Alexey Miller said on Wednesday.
"New facilities will support gas supplies to consumers in the Russian
Federation and to a significant degree to consumers in Europe through
the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline across the Baltic Sea," Miller said.
Gazprom signed binding agreements with European partners early in
September and should built gas transportation facilities in Russia’s
territory on such grounds, Gazprom CEO added,
Gazprom intends to conclude the construction tender on the unified
gas supply system expansion for the Nord Stream-2 project in the nearest
future. The company will complete expansion of unified gas supply
system for Nord Stream-2 by 2019 year-end.
"We initiate large-scale activities to implement Ukhta - Torzhok-2
project. Tasks were assigned and the timeline was identified. The gas
pipeline will be built and ready for operation by the end of 2019, along
with other gas transport facilities from Bovanenkovskoe Field to Nord
Stream-2," Miller said.
