Iberdrola awarded the wind turbines in two Mexican wind farms with
total installed capacity of 325,5 megawatts to Gamesa on Friday.
The Pier IV and Santiago Eólico wind farms will be built over the next few years, the company said.
As
per the contracts, Gamesa will supply, manufacture and install 134
latest-generation wind turbines for these two installations, Iberdrola
said.
The first contract is for the installation and start-up of 84 turbines at the Pier IV wind farm in Puebla.
The wind turbines are scheduled for delivery in early 2018 and the farm's start-up date is March 2019.
The second agreement allows for the supply of 50 turbines at the Santiago Eólico wind farm in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.
At
Santiago Eólico the wind turbines will be installed in the second half
of 2018 and the wind farm will begin operations in April 2019.
Iberdrola
is Mexico's largest private electricity producer with an installed
capacity of 5,800 megawatts and construction projects under way
amounting to approximately 4,000 megawatts.
