The Finance Ministry is
considering giving a second chance to uninsured vehicle owners following the
confusion created by numerous errors in the notices it has sent.
Ministry sources say it is
contemplating a legal amendment that will practically abolish the 250-euro
stamp duty for the signing of an insurance contract for their vehicle in a
short period of time (probably within six months).
In case they do not do so
in time, the ministry is considering doubling the administrative fine.
It is estimated that one in
three notices was erroneous.
