Turkeys Crude Oil Imports Up by 10.7% in December 2018

Turkey's crude oil imports increased by 10.7 percent to 2.1 million tonnes in December 2018 compared to the same month of 2017, according to a report released by the country's energy watchdog on Thursday.

However, the country's overall imports of oil products decreased by 10.3 percent in December to 3.1 million tonnes compared to December 2017, the Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said. The production of oil refinery products increased by 33.6 percent to 2.5 million tonnes.

In addition, diesel and gasoline production was up by 11.5 and 11.4 percent, reaching nearly 900 thousand tonnes and 433 thousand tonnes, respectively.

In December, total fuel sales fell by 6.5 percent to 2.1 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
