Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 3.46% on Sep. 24

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.46% to 781,088 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,373 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 27,275 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 784,039 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.43% increase compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 203,537 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and hydroelectricity plants followed with 187,632 megawatt-hours and 163,708 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Tuesday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 5,929 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 2,978 megawatt-hours.
