London-listed Imperial Energy (IEC.LN) Friday reported a 229% jump in its Russian-registered reserves during 2007 to 372 million barrels of equivalent, following discoveries of new oil.

Imperial said hydrocarbon reserves at its Snezhnoye field grew 428% to 83.7 million barrels during the same period.

At present, Imperial's Russian-registered reserves include oil, gas and condensate, while Society of Petroleum Engineers, or SPE, reserves only include oil estimates.

As previously announced, Imperial has asked auditors DeGolyer and MacNaughton to provide an SPE assessment of Imperial's gas reserves in selected fields, as well as an update on Imperial's oil reserves. The report should be published this spring.
