Turkey's Energy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs will soon travel to Iran to resume talks on cooperation in the energy and natural gas sectors, the oil ministry's official Shana Web site reported Monday, citing Iran's oil minister.

"There is no problem with the signing of the contract," Gholam Hossein Nozari said, adding that according to expert opinions, the deal would need a "great deal of time" to be concluded, according to Shana.

Iran and Turkey signed a preliminary agreement in 2007 for Turkey to transfer natural gas from Iran and Turkmenistan to Europe, and to help develop three natural gas fields in Iran, Shana said.

Shana did not specify exactly when Turkey's minister will travel to Iran to resume discussions.
