Austrian oil and gas company OMV AG (OMV.VI) said Monday it will sell its entire Italian filling stations business, which comprises 96 filling stations all located in the Trivineto region and gathered in the wholly-owned unit OMV Italia S.r.L.

"OMV will focus its filling stations business on the growth markets in the Danube region, in South-Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region," OMV said in a statement.

"By comparison, the Italian market is saturated and offers little growth opportunity," OMV said.

The company expects to have finalized the sale by year-end 2009, it said.
